Our joint consultation with the UK Government and Northern Ireland Executive in 2021 set out proposals for the design of the deposit return scheme. This included an economic benefits assessment with a specific section on small and micro sized businesses. The consultation also sought views on any mitigations which should be put in place to minimise the burden on these businesses
The next step will be a joint publication of the final design of the scheme. This will include a revised impact assessment and will set out measures designed to minimise the impact on smaller businesses of these reforms.
