Llwybr Newydd sets out a long-term vision for an accessible and sustainable transport system. The strategy identified a number of ‘pathways’ which are currently in development and will be published as part of the national transport delivery plan later this year.
The Equality pathway maps the actions needed to meet our legal and policy commitments on the accessibility of infrastructure and services, as well as our commitments on inclusive design, training, policy development and standards. Delivery on these commitments will be scrutinised and monitored by the transport performance board. The aim is to ensure that equality is integrated into transport planning at the highest level rather than seen as a separate issue.
In line with the five ways of working, we will involve people with direct experience of equality issues including the Transport for Wales Advisory Panel.
