Pa gynnydd sydd wedi'i wneud o ran datblygu strategaeth tlodi plant newydd ar gyfer plant a phobl ifanc yng Nghymru?
We have made a commitment to refresh the Child Poverty Strategy during this Senedd term. As a first step, I took a paper on poverty to Cabinet on 7th March.
Cabinet discussions resulted in Ministers agreeing to a series of bilateral meetings with me to discuss how Programme for Government commitments, as well as current and future policy development, can be shaped and delivered with the need to combat poverty and inequality as a central driver. It was also agreed that discussions should consider longer term actions which could have a lasting impact in tackling poverty and inequality. This included identifying gaps and opportunities to re-prioritise budgets to deliver better shared outcomes.
These bilateral meetings are currently taking place and will help ensure our ambitions are aligned across government. They will inform our approach to tackling child poverty going forward.
