The 2017-20 Stroke Delivery Plan has been superseded by the Quality Statement for Stroke, which was published in September 2021.
Quality statements are being taken forward by health boards and NHS trusts. The various national programmes, networks and implementation groups will support NHS organisations to take the Quality Statement for Stroke forward through the development of a service enabling plan.
Dr Shakeel Ahmed has been appointed as the clinical lead for stroke and is leading the development of this enabling plan in response to the Quality Statement for Stroke. He is supported by the Stroke Implementation Group, which consists of a range of statutory and voluntary sector partners, including the Stroke Association.
