I announced a £36.6m package of wellbeing support for children, young people and their families on 6 October 2021.  As part of this package, £20m revenue funding formed a Winter of Wellbeing programme for children and young people aged 0 - 25 years to support their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Given the one-off nature of the programme and the broad age range, we have worked with a number of partners.  In addition to the funding allocated to local authorities, we awarded funding to the following organisations:

  • Amgueddfa Cymru, and the Federation of Museums & Art Galleries in Wales
  • Society of Chief Librarians
  • Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru / National Library of Wales
  • Sport Wales
  • CADW
  • National Music Service (via the Welsh Local Government Association)
  • Primary and comprehensive (including sixth form) schools
  • Further Education Colleges
  • Urdd Gobaith Cymru
  • Three Youth Services in Local Authorities to extend a Welsh language pilot
  • National Union of Students (via HEFCW)
  • Canolfan Dysgu (Centre for learning Welsh)
  • Cymru FM

Local authorities have worked with a range of service providers in their areas, including purchasing places at existing activities and providing grants to run additional services.  An independent research and evaluation company is currently collating all the monitoring information from the funded partners, which includes the list of organisations they have funded via this programme.
