Successive UK Governments have, for a number of years, carried out post legislative reviews of the operation of most Acts of Parliament, normally resulting in the publication of a command paper issued to the relevant select committee who may then conduct their own scrutiny. The preparation of a command paper is a matter for the UK Government. We await the publication of any command paper in relation to the Wales Act 2017 and we will consider appropriate engagement with any post legislative scrutiny of the Act the Welsh Affairs Committee wishes to conduct. Background and further information on post legislative scrutiny more generally may be found via the following links.
