The additional £4.5m capital funding for 2021-22 I announced recently will support clubs and organisations who successfully met the criteria set by Sport Wales following an expression of interest exercise.
We are already investing £4m in Sport Wales’ Be Active Wales Fund in 2021-22 to protect and progress community sport clubs and organisations through the Covid-19 pandemic and into the future. There will be further opportunities over the next 3 years for clubs and organisations to apply for capital funding from the £24m we will invest to deliver our Programme for Government commitment to enhance and improve sports facilities in communities across Wales.
I would encourage any sport club who requires support to address the impact of the pandemic or recent severe weather conditions to visit the Sport Wales website for information about the grants and assistance available.
