Welsh Athletics has previously applied for facility upgrade grants from Sport Wales. Although no recent applications have been submitted specifically for an athletics track in Deeside, funding has been provided to a number of athletics clubs in the area.
Since January 2019, more than £250,000 of Sport Wales funding has been provided across North Wales to 19 athletics organisations, including two in Deeside via the Be Active Wales Fund.
Welsh Athletics continues to review where it can work with partners to secure investment in future. Deeside has a very buoyant athletics community, which continues to grow year on year.
