Our long-term plan for Health and Social Care, A Healthier Wales, sets out our ambition for more people to be able to access seamless, integrated care designed around the individual, based on what matters to them. This includes engaging with families and taking a multi-disciplinary approach to help understand their needs. These are key elements of an Open Dialogue approach.

More specifically, the National Psychological Therapies Management Committee and Improvement Cymru have developed guidance to support the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions in Wales for both adults and children and young people, Matrics Cymru and Matrics Plant.

Within our current delivery plan we have committed to update the evidence tables in the Matrices so it remains fit for purpose and able to respond where there is evidence of good practice. This work is ongoing and includes a review of the evidence in relation to open dialogue as a psychological intervention and working with health boards that are already exploring the use of open dialogue.
