I can confirm the Welsh Government is committed to supporting the 30 by 30 target, which is currently being negotiated at COP 15. I am considering the role legislation can play in underpinning nature recovery targets more broadly, including the 30 by 30 target.
I will work with Welsh communities and the Senedd to develop our approach to meeting this and other nature recovery targets. This will determine the strategic, regulatory and legislative action we need to take, and inform a roadmap setting out how we will achieve 30% of land and seas protected by 2030.
