The Programme for Government published on 15 June included a commitment to ban the use of snares in Wales. This builds on proposals published in The Agriculture (Wales) Bill White Paper last December. My intention to drive up animal welfare standards is clear and my officials are currently exploring legislative options to ban the use of snares in Wales during this Senedd term.
