Powys County Council has been allocated £450k from the Local Transport Fund 2021-22 for high street improvements in Brecon, Hay-on-Wye and Crickhowell. This is for road closures, removal of street parking, 20mph and footway widening. Some minor works and design will take place this financial year, with main construction planned for 2022-23.

Included above, Powys County Council have been allocated £20,000 for the A4215 Libanus – Defynnon Study Phase 2. This funding will enable a route study to be undertaken which will identify appropriate remedial measures to address prevailing road safety issues. This assessment will then be used to provide a basis for any future works along the route.
Finally, on 22 June I announced a roads review. All road programmes and projects funded by the Welsh Government, except those already under construction, are potentially in scope under the roads review. Once the Chair and panel members have been appointed, an initial report will be provided to Ministers within 3 months setting out how the panel will go about its task and confirming which road schemes are in the scope of the review.
