Welsh Government has no plans introduce tolled clean-air zones along the A470 at Upper Boat in Pontypridd and along the M4 at the Brynglas Tunnels. In line with our legal obligations to reduce harmful levels of nitrogen dioxide at a number of locations on the motorway and trunk road network in Wales, we have commissioned surveys to gain people’s views on potential future clean air zone proposals on sections of the M4 in Newport and A470 near Pontypridd. The outcomes of these surveys will help inform the next steps.
