As at 12 July, 1,868,377 individuals had received a complete two-dose course of COVID-19 vaccination in Wales.

Public Health Wales carry out surveillance of PCR-confirmed COVID-19 cases in vaccinated individuals, by linking national testing data to the Welsh Immunisation System. As at 12 July, the number of people who had tested positive for SARS-CoV2 by PCR test, seven days or more after a documented second dose of COVID-19 vaccine was 3,761. The information is measured at seven days so that it remains timely.  Individuals usually acquire maximum immunity to COVID-19 14 days after receiving the final dose of vaccine. It is important to recognise that this number does not give information about the effectiveness of vaccination; the number will rise as cases rise and as vaccination uptake rises.
