The health board restarted orthopaedic daycase surgery at Ysbyty Gwynedd on 17 May.  The resumption of inpatient activity was due to start shortly after; however, this has been delayed as the critical care unit is being upgraded.  Provided the upgrade of the critical care facilities goes to schedule, orthopaedic inpatient activity in Ysbyty Gwynedd will restart by the end of July.

Whilst the work is being done in Ysbyty Gwynedd, all patients across the region are being seen in order of clinical priority and will be seen in the first available slot at one of the three sites, no matter where they are from in North Wales.  The health board is also looking to increase capacity at Abergele over the coming months, as well as outsourcing patients to alternative providers to help tackle the backlog.
