Under the UK Testing Programme delivered by the UK Government Department of Health and Social Care on behalf of the four nations, Wales receives a 4.7% allocation. Welsh Government has to date drawn almost 10 million lateral flow kits. These have been distributed to support the priorities in our Testing Strategy and involve advance orders for workforce testing in health, social care and schools for the next 6-8 weeks. Almost six million kits have been distributed to support testing in schools and colleges; two million to support testing of the health and social care workforce and the rest to support community and other workplace testing in both the public and private sectors.
We are planning to publish high-level figures on lateral flow tests and results as soon as possible once the data has been validated across settings.
