Anyone experiencing difficulty in paying their council tax bill should check whether they might be eligible for a discount, exemption or reduction and contact their local authority. On 25 March 2020, I announced a single emergency funding stream for local authorities to meet the pressures arising from the pandemic. This is being supported by an initial £30 million of additional funding.
