Pa drafodaethau y mae'r Gweinidog wedi'u cael gyda Bwrdd Iechyd Hywel Dda ynghylch dyfodol Ysbyty Llanymddyfri, ac a allai manylion y trafodaethau hynny gael eu darparu?

I have not had any specific discussions with Hywel Dda Health Board over the future of Ysbyty Llanymddyfri, however my officials are in regular liaison with the Health Board regarding configuration matters.

As outlined in its Health and Care Strategy, Transforming Clinical Services, the hospital remains of strategic importance to the Health Board and provides vital services for the local population.

I understand that in recent months challenges have been experienced in recruiting to a number of posts, resulting in a temporary reduction in bed capacity to ensure a safe level of service for patients and a reduction in Minor Injury Unit operating capacity.

The Health Board is continuing to engage with staff, stakeholders (including the Community Health Council) and members of the public to ensure open and honest communication regarding the hospital and its future.

Whilst the hospital is continuing to work through the aforementioned challenges, I am assured that under its long term programme for change, the Health Board has no plans to close the hospital, and I look forward to witnessing the facility develop as a critical asset in the delivery of future health services to the local community.
