The main elements of publicly funded tree planting within the Welsh Government are the Glastir Woodland Creation (GWC), Glastir Restoration schemes (GWR) and , restocking on the Welsh Government’s Woodland Estate (WGWE) and the PLANT! Scheme:
- GWC – Glastir Woodland Creation – Welsh Government offer funding new woodland creation.
- GWR – Glastir Restoration – replanting areas of larch felled due to ramorum disease.
- WGWE – Welsh Government Woodland Estate – restocking of areas harvested.
- PLANT! – aims to plant a native Welsh broadleaf tree for every child born or adopted in Wales.
