We are continuing to work with stakeholders across Wales to improve the public transport network, including within the Ogmore Constituency. As part of the Local Transport Fund, Bridgend Council has been allocated £150,000 to enhance the quality of bus stops on key strategic bus corridors, enhancing accessibility for all users to ensure all current and future bus service users have a consistent experience when accessing the public transport network.

Refurbished trains are being introduced on the Maesteg line this year by Transport for Wales, increasing capacity from 292 to 449 passengers, with brand new trains coming into service by the end of 2022. The Strategic Outline Case which is considering the potential opportunities and constraints to introducing additional services on the Maesteg line, is due to be completed in the next few weeks.

Officials continue to work closely with the Wales Office and the Department for Transport to identify investment opportunities that will improve rail services across South Wales.
