We have a number of schemes which support pubs and other ratepayers in Wales with their non-domestic rates bills.

Our £115m Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) scheme provides 100% relief for eligible businesses with a rateable value of up to £6,000 and tapered relief for those valued between £6,001 and £12,000.  Our Transitional Relief provides support to ratepayers who saw a reduction in their entitlement to SBRR as a result of the 2017 revaluation.

In addition, in 2019-20 our High Street and Retail Rates Relief is providing £23.6m to support retail businesses across Wales, including the food and drink sector.  It will support over 14,000 businesses across Wales.

All the schemes in Wales are fully funded by the Welsh Government, providing over £220m of relief to support ratepayers in Wales this year.  Over three-quarters of Welsh ratepayers receive some form of relief with their bills, more than half pay no rates at all.
