The Inspectorate’s Annual Report and Accounts is published each year and the latest document, dated July 2018, shows Planning Inspectorate Wales met all casework performance targets relating to timeliness of decisions in 2017-18, including those relating to planning inquiries. The target for planning inquiries is particularly difficult to meet due the small numbers of appeals handled through this procedure, as even one missed appeal deadline could hinder the achievement of the target. Despite this, the Inspectorate in Wales rarely misses its targets and continually outperforms the Planning Inspectorate in England.
