I appointed John Lloyd Jones to Chair the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales (NICW) in June. In November I appointed eleven commissioners and the NICW met for the first time during the same month.
I have written to the Chair with the NICW’s remit. The letter will be published shortly on the NICW’s internet page https://beta.gov.wales/national-infrastructure-commission-wales
The NICW is busy developing its work programme and I expect further details to emerge in the New Year. It will produce its first annual report by November 2019.
A notional budget has been allocated to progress the establishment of the NICW. As the NICW work programme becomes clearer, the Chair and I will cooperate to determine the level of support and funding it will need.
