Since acquisition of Cardiff Airport in March 2013, the Welsh Government has provided the airport with a commercial loan facility of £23million, the purpose of which is to enable the airport to fulfil the objectives set out in its Business Plan which include route development and infrastructure improvements. An expansion of the loan facility is currently being discussed.
