Pryd y mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn bwriadu cyflwyno targedau lleol mewn perthynas â chynyddu'r ddarpariaeth cyfrwng Cymraeg ym mhob ysgol, fel yr amlinellir yn y Rhaglen Lywodraethu?
Local authorities are currently working towards statutory targets set through their Welsh in Education Strategic Plans (WESPs). The Welsh Government monitors progress against those targets on an annual basis and holds regular discussions with local authorities on their delivery.
In addition, we will be consulting on the National Framework for Welsh Language Education and Learning Welsh later this autumn, and publishing the framework in summer 2027. The framework will set out targets and actions to ensure that every child in Wales is on the journey to becoming a confident Welsh speaker by the time they leave school.
By 2028/29, local authorities will be required to set out in their new Welsh in education local strategic plans how they will meet any local targets set in the National Framework.
