We recognise the critical role of our faith groups in communities, and work with those groups through the Faith Communities Forum.

The north-west Cardiff corridor rail project is outlined in Cardiff Council’s Transport White Paper. We continue to work closely with Cardiff and other authorities on their rail aspirations, including Phase 1 of the Cardiff Crossrail project, an essential pre-cursor to any future development of the north-west Cardiff corridor scheme.

The Welsh Government takes road safety very seriously. Welsh Ministers have a duty under the Highways Act 1980 to maintain and improve the strategic highway network. To ensure the safety of the strategic road network regular inspections are undertaken. We also have our traffic officer service which attend incidents and can quickly remove vehicles and obstructions from the roadside to improve traffic safety.

The Bus Services (Wales) Bill will secure the future of the bus network, benefitting the workforce and passengers. Our bus reform plans, delivered in social partnership with trade unions and the bus industry, will help maintain and build an inclusive and diverse workforce.

Connecting communities is a government priority. Our Transport Strategy, Llwybr Newydd, sets out our vision to improve transport across Wales. We are transforming our railways, delivering a better bus network, fixing our roads and empowering local communities with each region setting its own transport priorities in their Regional Transport Plan.
