International Languages are vital to Wales’s future prosperity and influence in the world. We have a clear vision to support international language learning set out in our Global Futures 2022-2025 plan. I have recently agreed to extend this plan for a further year.

Pa ganllawiau y mae yr Ysgrifennydd Cabinet yn eu darparu i ysgolion ynghylch defnyddio ffonau clyfar yn ystod gwersi?

Mobile phones can be used effectively to support learning, and it is important children, and young people are taught about online safety. Our behaviour toolkit will be published early next year and will include classroom management strategies and research on managing behaviour, including mobile phone usage in schools.

Beth yw asesiad presennol Llywodraeth Cymru o addasrwydd polisïau gwisgoedd ysgol ar draws Cymru?

Our statutory guidance on school uniform policies was revised last year with an increased focus on affordability. This was following a public consultation which attracted over 5000 responses and showed a considerable call for uniforms to be retained. Officials are currently reviewing impacts of these changes on schools and families.

Working in partnership with the Welsh Government and others, Medr will be responsible for delivering future Welsh apprenticeship provision at all levels to meet the needs of learners and the economy in Wales.  A range of degree apprenticeships are already available in Wales.
