Welcome to this meeting of the Culture, Communications, Cymraeg and Sport Committee. The role of Chair of this committee is shared between me and Mair Rowlands MS. I will be chairing this meeting. The public items of this meeting are being broadcast live on Senedd.tv. The Record of Proceedings will be published as usual. The meeting is bilingual and simultaneous translation from Welsh to English is available.
We've received apologies from Helen Jenner and Louise Emery. We have also received apologies from Mair Rowlands MS for the start of this meeting, but she may attend later. Are there any declarations of interest from Members? No.

I'll start off in public and I might want to carry this on in private. We need some set of rules regarding this. During the time of the last Senedd, I ended up dealing with a number of constituents who'd accepted places on courses, only to discover the courses were not going to be funded because they were being run not by the main college that organised it, but by other colleges, and the degrees were managed by and given by the other college. I think that we need to look at that in some detail, or the education committee needs to look at it in some detail. As you're all aware, students applying for courses, when they see a course and see accreditation, don't realise the accreditation is only for the main provider, not for anybody who's providing the course as a sub-provider.
Yes, I would agree with you there, definitely. That's something that we will discuss further on in the meeting. It will be coming up. Thank you very much.

We'll move on to the next item, item 3, motion under Standing Order 17.42. In accordance with the Standing Order, subsections (vi), (vii) and (ix), I invite the committee to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting in order to prepare to take evidence and discuss confidential legal advice we've had in relation to item 4, and to discuss items 5, 6 and 7, relating to the internal business of the committee. Are Members content? Yes. I see that all Members are content. We will now move on in private for the remainder of the meeting to consider items 4 to 7. We'll wait to hear that we've gone into private session.
