Cofnodir y trafodion yn yr iaith y llefarwyd hwy ynddi yn y pwyllgor. Yn ogystal, cynhwysir trawsgrifiad o’r cyfieithu ar y pryd. Lle mae cyfranwyr wedi darparu cywiriadau i’w tystiolaeth, nodir y rheini yn y trawsgrifiad.
The proceedings are reported in the language in which they were spoken in the committee. In addition, a transcription of the simultaneous interpretation is included. Where contributors have supplied corrections to their evidence, these are noted in the transcript.

Bore da. Good morning. Welcome to the meeting on Tuesday 14 May of the Wales COVID-19 Inquiry Special Purpose Committee. Can I welcome everybody to the meeting this morning? In particular, can I welcome Buffy Williams and James Evans to the committee, who have come on in the place of Jack Sargeant and Altaf Hussain? I wanted to thank Altaf and Jack for all their work on the committee to this point, and I really look forward to working with you both, Buffy and James. There have been no apologies for absence received this morning. Are there any interests that Members wish to declare? No.
If I just provide a quick update, then, on the work of the committee so far. The committee's remit is to look at reports at each stage of the UK COVID-19 inquiry and propose to the Senedd by motion any gaps identified in the preparedness and response of the Welsh Government and any other Welsh public bodies during the COVID-19 pandemic that should be subject to further examination. The committee is awaiting publication of the UK COVID inquiry's report arising from its first investigation into resilience and preparedness, which is module 1, and that is expected to be published in the middle of this year. Upon seeing the report, the committee will begin its work to analyse the findings in the report and to identify any gaps. We're in the process of considering our approach to identifying gaps and we'll continue our work in private to enable us to do that work. We hope to provide an update to the public on our approach to our work before the summer recess.
